Danielle Bradbery Wins ‘The Voice’ Season 4, Blake Shelton Nabs a Threepeat
Wednesday 06-19-2013 6:30am ET

It was a threepeat — and on his birthday! Coach Blake Shelton won his third season in a row of ‘The Voice‘ Tuesday (June 18), as his team member, 16-year-old Danielle Bradbery, nabbed the big win! That’s right. Texas girl Bradbery won Season 4. What a birthday present for Papa Bear Blake!
Bradbery was the odds-on favorite, according to the bet-makers in Vegas who predicted she’d notch the win. She beat out Oklahoma duo the Swon Brothers, who were the first pair to make it to the finals in the show’s history. The Bros. were also part of Team Blake, and they placed third.
Bradbery beat out quirky singer Michelle Chamuel to take the crown. The young star won America’s collective heart with her God-given ability to sing country music and her sweet and wholesome nature. Shelton helped ‘usher’ — pun intended, as Chamuel was a Team Usher contestant — the teen in with smart song choices that helped her beat out her fellow competitors each and every week.
So Season 4 is on the books. Shelton won Season 2 with Jermaine Paul and Season 3 with Cassadee Pope. The latter’s career is rolling right along.
We expect to see and hear a lot more from Bradbery in the future. If she’s this talented at 16, imagine her at 20? Or 26? We can’t even begin to …
Congrats again to Danielle Bradbery and Team Blake Shelton on the big win. This likely means that every contestant will want to be picked by Shelton during Season 5′s blind auditions.

Country Stars Without Makeup – And Still Beautiful
Wednesday 06-05-2013 6:35am ET
Some of the most beautiful singers in country music have revealed that they’re still plenty beautiful when the makeup is wiped away. Photos of singers like Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles before and after a MAC attack are shocking, but not in the way many would expect.
Pictures of country stars without makeup have been appearing with astonishing frequency lately. A few of the women scrapped the eye liner, lipstick and blush for magazine shoots, while at least two others gave fans a glimpse of their natural beauty without prompting. Tabloids might feed on capturing celebs without makeup, but with these ladies, we say let them!

Carrie Underwood to Sing in Memory of Dead Tornado Victims at CMT Awards
Wednesday 06-05-2013 6:21am ET
Superstar Carrie Underwood is familiar with the tornado siren, having grown up in Checotah, Oklahoma and even attending college in the Sooner state. The recent deadly tornado in Moore hit home for her, and on Wednesday she’ll sing in memory of the deceased victims at the 2013 CMT Music Awards.
Underwood will perform her latest single, ‘See You Again,’ with two dozen members of Nashville’s Christ Church choir, and it sounds like it will be a beautiful, touching, heartfelt performance that will pay tribute to the victims. “The choir, I’ve never done that before and they just kind of take it to a whole ethereal place,” she says, according to the Washington Post.
“The people in Oklahoma are really great. Tornado season is something that we’re all used to but you can never fully prepare for it,” Underwood says of her fellow Okies. “It takes what it wants and it knocks down what it wants and there’s nothing you can do about it except just try to be prepared. They’re just wonderful people and they’re going to rebuild and they’re going to bounce back stronger than ever.”
This isn’t the first time the ‘Good Girl’ superstar has stepped up to help her home state, as she gave a whopping $1 million to the American Red Cross to help benefit victims just last month. Other country stars, including Blake Shelton and Toby Keith, are doing their part, from hosting benefit concerts to helping pick up the pieces of the tornado’s aftermath.
Viewers of the 2013 CMT Music Awards will be directed on how to donate to the Red Cross during the performance ton Wednesday’s (June 5) awards show, which will air live at 8PM ET from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
Luke Bryan is a Michael Jackson Fan!?!?
Wednesday 05-29-2013 8:49am ET
Listening to Luke Bryan on the radio, you’d never know he’s a big fan of both Michael Jackson and heavy metal giants Metallica.
It turns out Michael’s album, Thriller, was the first album Luke ever bought with his own money. “If you didn’t have Thriller, you weren’t cool,” Luke tells Entertainment Weekly. “Yes, I could moonwalk. No, we couldn’t afford the glove and the red jacket.”
As for Metallica, Luke admits to loving their 1988 album …And Justice for All. He says, “I’d never really gotten into rock, and it was the first time I heard a big rock album that really inspired me. I just thought it was awesome, the angst and the anger.”

Carrie Underwood Admits Her Flaws, Swears She’s Not a Sociopath in Marie Claire Cover Issue
Wednesday 05-15-2013 6:49am ET
Carrie Underwood‘s celebrity status makes her seem almost untouchable, but she’s not afraid to admit that, just like every other human being, she has flaws. The singer recently opened up in the cover issue of Marie Claire and explained just exactly what her idiosyncrasies are — and why they don’t make her a sociopath.
“We were never a huggy family. Or a ‘let’s talk it out’ family,” the singer reveals. “Technically I have siblings, but they are quite a bit older than me — I was the accident — so I have the only-child syndrome going on. I’m a little more selfish, a little more independent, a little closed.”
“I do wish I were softer,” she admits. “I wish I were able to form relationships better. But hey, I mean …” she pauses, laughing, “I’m not a sociopath.”
In fact, the songstress’ tendency to be a more independent and not super touchy-feely translated to a difficult transition at the grassroots of her brand new singing career.
“At the beginning of my career, I used to have panic attacks,” she shares. “People were touching me, screaming – it made me really nervous. In public, I just get nervous. It’s a physical reaction, feeling like the walls are closing in.”
“The fans are great. It’s not their fault,” Underwood clarifies. “I don’t ever want to come across as ungrateful. But on my end, it is hard for me to process. Because I am still just me.”
The ‘Two Black Cadillacs’ superstar accepts that perhaps she’s not always the greatest friend when it comes to her personal relationships. “I’m probably not great at talking or understanding emotional things. I’ll totally listen. But I won’t have a lot of advice to give,” she spills. “I’m bad at calling to check in, the long conversation. But in the ways that really matter, I’m there. I would donate a kidney. The people they hate, I hate.”
While the singer is composed in every performance — whether it’s a heartfelt ballad on her old stomping grounds of ‘American Idol’ or a dramatic No. 1 hit — she isn’t always completely put together, according to her hockey playing husband, Mike Fisher. In fact, he calls her ”the queen of awkward moments: and says that his wife “is brutally honest sometimes. She doesn’t know how to hide her feelings.”
In Underwood’s words, “Anything that can be made awkward, I will make it awkward.”
In spite of not being a people person — her mom’s words — Underwood is still an inspiration to so many. In fact, her honesty in opening up about her flaws just adds to the great respect that millions of fans already have for her.
Brad Paisley, Kid Rock and Other Celebrities Read Mean Tweets
Monday 05-13-2013 8:52am ET
On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!,’ the late night TV host makes celebrities read mean tweets that regular people have sent out into the Twitterverse about them. This particular batch of nasty, 140-characters-or-less transmissions included country music’s own Brad Paisley and Kid Rock.
The tweet about Paisley was extra mean, filled with lots of “f” bombs and bleeps. Paisley certainly had a sense of humor about it — which is pretty much par for the course with the superstar, known for his love of pranking tourmates. He offered up a crooked smirk as he read the tweet, and the look on his face was priceless, to say nothing of hilarious.
Kid Rock’s personal odor was in question in the tweet sent his direction, and he had an answer for it, which was pretty hysterical, as well.
It’s always refreshing when celebs have a sense of humor about themselves, as clearly, Paisley and Kid Rock do! Jessica Alba, Russell Brand, Andy Samberg and more also read mean tweets, so it wasn’t just country acts getting picked on.
It just goes to show you that what you send out into the digital universe may very well end up in front of a celeb, so be careful what you tweet.
