Josh Thompson and Justin Moore are at the center of a federal case in which three Blackfeet tribal leaders were indicted on charges they held illegal big-game hunts on a Montana reservation.
The AP reports that in 2010 and 2011, Jay St. Goddard, Jay Wells and Gayle Skunkcap Jr. allegedly organized unlicensed hunts and illegally sold the tribe's wildlife in exchange for exposure on a television show about hunting called The Sovereign Sportsman and for concerts by Josh and Justin.
Josh's killing of a bull elk in October of 2010 is featured on the Sovereign Sportsman Network's website.
In 2011, Justin reportedly killed a bull elk during an organized hunt.
No charges are being brought against Josh or Justin.
All three defendants pleaded not guilty to six felony counts, including conspiracy, the illegal sale of tribal wildlife, theft from a tribal government receiving federal funds and making false statements.
